National Standard for Maximum Residue Limits of Pesticides in Food (GB 2763) - 2026 Edition

he "National Food Safety Standard for Maximum Residue Limits of Pesticides in Food" (hereinafter referred to as "GB 2763") is a mandatory national standard for pesticide residue limits in food in China. As a crucial component of China's food safety standard system, it serves not only as a core technical standard for regulating the scientific use of pesticides, ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products, and safeguarding consumer health but also as a vital support for promoting green and high-quality agricultural development and enhancing the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.

To adapt to the actual conditions of agricultural production, technological advancements, and international trade demands under the new circumstances, and to address issues such as fragmented systems, regulatory gaps for certain specialty crops, and mismatches between testing methods and limit requirements in the previous edition, the National Pesticide Residue Standard Review Committee, guided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and other relevant authorities, strictly followed the standard formulation and revision procedures to conduct a comprehensive revision of the GB 2763 standard. On February 12, 2026, the National Health Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the GB 2763-2026 (Announcement No. 2 of 2026), which officially took effect from March 1, 2026, replacing the "National Food Safety Standard Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides in Food" (GB 2763-2021) and the "National Food Safety Standard Maximum Residue Limits for 112 Pesticides Including 2,4-Dibutylate in Food" (GB 2763.1-2022). The 2026 version of GB 2763 stipulates 10,749 residue limits for 585 pesticides, including 2,4-dibutylate, based on integration and expansion.
